Ethics code
1. Accountability. Members of the Ukrainian Grantmakers Forum (hereinafter referred to as the UGF) shall be responsible to their beneficiaries, citizens of Ukraine, public authorities and donors. Accountability shall be achieved through regular and open reporting on their activities and disclosing financial data. 2. Society is responsible for use of resources. UGF members shall allocate resources for goals valuable to the community. 3. Transparency. All procedures and activities of the UGF members dealing with philanthropy should be transparent for beneficiaries of the UGF, pubic, benevolent organizations, relevant authorities, media and other shareholders. Data on the UGF mission, goals, activities, management stricture and financial records on charitable activities of the UGF members shall be open for public. UGF members shall disclose full and valid information through their news releases and shall answer to informational requests without delay. 4. Equal Opportunities. UGF members shall provide equal opportunities for all grantees through application of widely promoted and consistent criteria of bid selection and consideration. Any and all decisions on funding shall be made on bid merits only; grantees shall not be granted any preferences based on their nationality, political affiliation, religion, gender, life style, appearance, social and economic status. 5. Conflict of interests. UGF members shall make their employees, especially authorized decision-makers, responsible for their decisions. No personal interests shall prevail over interests of the organization. Employees shall not abuse their offices for personal benefits. Each employee should inform on actual or possible conflicts of interest and shall not discuss or adopt decisions where such conflict is present. 6. Confidentiality. UGF members shall respect confidentiality of grantees, grantmakers and donors and shall not disclose their private or confidential data to public or other unauthorized parties. 7. Efficiency of funds utilization. In their work UGF members shall strive for high efficiency of funds utilization and shall reduce administrative expense to the minimum level required. 8. Professionalism. UGF members shall follow high professional standards, including mutual respect and constructive cooperation in their relations with grantees, grantmakers, donors and other shareholders in the field of charity and civil society. 9. Compliance with the law. UFG members shall observe the current legislation of Ukraine.
